The Darjeeling region is located in the northeastern Indian state of West Bengal and is known for its high mountains, rich history and picturesque landscape.
The tea is grown on the slopes of the Himalayan Mountains, where the unique combination of climate, soil conditions and altitude have a strong influence on the unmistakable aroma of this type of tea.
The ideal conditions for the growth of the plants, but also the knowledge of cultivating and processing the delicate leaves that has been passed down through generations and, last but not least, the great care of the pickers and tea farmers, produce the finest qualities in each of the 84 gardens.
The taste is floral, slightly tart and sometimes slightly nutty. It is often referred to as the CHAMPAGNE OF TEAS and is highly valued for its aromas and high quality.
There are different varieties of Darjeeling tea, depending on the location of the plantation and the harvest time.
