GREEN TEA - PREPARATION

Easy Preparation of Green Tea

DOSAGE:

2 heaped teaspoons for a large cup of approx. 350 ml (Haferl).

WATER TEMPERATURE:

70 degrees Celsius

Either bring to the boil and let cool for 5-10 minutes depending on the amount of water or
Add a generous splash of cold water.
(Tip when heating water that has already been boiled: When the water in the kettle starts to form small bubbles, it has the right temperature).

    SIEVE & FILTER:

No matter what type of sieve or filter you use, the following applies to every tea:

    • "The leaves need a lot of space to unfold. They should also be washed with as much water as possible to release their full aroma."

    BREWING TIME:

    SHORT!

⛔️ Although for a long time most green teas were brewed for 2-3 minutes, we advocate

    ✅ SHORTER & MORE OFTEN

      SPECIFICALLY :

      • Beginners: 30 seconds

      • Professionals: 1 minute

In order to give the green tea time to release all of its health-promoting substances into the water, it is brewed 2-3 times.
      • (Brewing times for 2nd infusion: 1 minute, 3rd infusion: 2 minutes)

It is interesting to know that the caffeine is released most quickly from the tea leaf. This means that the second infusion contains only half as much caffeine and there is hardly any left in the third.

      KEEP WARM:

Unfortunately, most brewed green teas are not suitable for keeping warm in a pot for a long time. They turn brown and lose their fresh aroma.

So it’s better to drink quickly and prepare the next infusion.
      And then ENJOY!
