Traditionally, the East Frisian Goldblatt is enjoyed with Kluntje (brown sugar candy) and Wölkchen (a dash of cream).
Put the Kluntje in the cup and pour the hot tea over it so that the rock candy pieces crack. The rock candy represents the earth and the tea represents the sea. Now add a few drops of cream and a white cloud forms, which represents the sky.
Because the tea is not stirred, you drink it until it becomes very sweet due to the sugar at the bottom and only then is more tea added.
